These adapters are used to mount accessories onto the tapered spindles of Foredom’s M.BL Bench lathe. Use the A-4561 and A-4562 for 3M ScotchBrite Radial Bristle Discs and wheels with 3/8″ arbor holes. A-4568 is a Hub Adapter for mounting FX & other wheels with 1″ holes. This special adapter was designed and manufactured specifically for using 2″ and 3″ Radial Bristle Discs on the BL Bench Lathe to buff, clean, and polish work pieces at variable speed up to 7,000 RPM. 3M advocates the use of Foredom’s BL Lathe with their larger diameter discs. Maximum and recommended speeds depend on the type and size of accessory, as well as the mandrel in use. The ratings we publish for our mandrels are based on an 1″ overhang with an accessory that weighs under 1 gram, and is smaller than 1/2″ in diameter. As a general rule, smaller accessories and mandrels can be used at higher speeds than larger accessories and mandrels. It is a good idea to follow the recommendations that come with both the accessory and the mandrel you are using. Use A-4562 and A-4561 to mount buffs and wheels up to 4″ with 3/8″ arbor holes onto the right hand side of the BL Lathe. Also for 2″ and 3″ Scotch-Brite Radial Bristle Discs.
